GOAL KICKER'S ??

Started by: GOLDEN BEAR (6569)

I would like some response to my question about goal -kicker's in our game of RUGBY LEAGUE ! By that i mean what is the problem compared to the two codes ?? In Rugby Union those guys seem able to LOB them over from any part of the pitch . Yet in Rugby League we really find it very difficult to find a consistent Goal-kicker , ,So i'm asking what is the reason for these statistics ??? I have one theory and that is ,Could it be the shape or weight of the ball ?? I await some comments !! GB.

Don’t forget GB a penalty in RU is worth 3 pts and there seems to be a lot of technical penalties as well…but honestly the kicking game has always been more prominent in RU

It's not just the goal kicks, they kick for touch better, drop goals better..
Rugby league balls have differed in the past, the eight panel one used a few years ago for example...
Maybe tries are harder to come by with two extra players on the field,it's a mystery

I remember playing RU in the Royal Navy and the ball was very pointed at the ends and not as oval as the are now
